Best 5 Cozy Nintendo Switch Games to Relax With

After a long day, are you looking to relax with some cozy Nintendo Switch Games? Here are some of my recommendations!

As a person who juggles many things in their personal life and career, playing some cozy games to relax helps me recharge. The Nintendo Switch was something that I have always wanted since its release, and I finally got to buy one last year.

While everyone has a preference on what they find cozy and relaxing, here are my best 5 cozy Nintendo Switch games I played since I got the console!

5 Cozy Nintendo Switch Games

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley

Right on top of the list would hands-down be Stardew Valley. In case you live under a rock, the game is a farming simulation role-playing game that was released in 2016. I have always been a fan of the game and the developer, ConcernedApe, due to its relaxing and charming elements. Even when I start a new run, it still gives me satisfaction when I clean the farm and plot different layouts (though let’s be honest, I’m not the best at it). I mostly enjoy mining, fishing, and completing the Community Center, but there are no rules in playing Stardew Valley. You are free to take your time and play however you want!

Moonglow Bay

I first encountered Moonglow Bay on the PC when I hadn’t bought my Nintendo Switch. I was hunting for a good relaxing game that reminds me of Stardew Valley. Moonglow Bay focuses on the fishing aspect, and there’s also cooking involved. However, there are no love interests since you are honoring your missing partner. The art style’s really cute as well, which might’ve been one of the things that had me sold.

Rune Factory 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing Rune Factory 4 on my 3DS XL back then, so I had high hopes that I’d also enjoy Rune Factory 5. The first thing I noticed was that it was in a different perspective compared to the previous title. I do miss the old character models but still welcomed the new style. If you love farming roleplaying games like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, you should give this a chance too!

Potion Permit

I definitely need to put Potion Permit in this list as well. I’m a sucker for anything that has pixel art in it, and I adore this game’s style. You play as a chemist tasked to cure the mayor’s daughter and take care of the residents of the town as well. There’s some combat too when gathering materials and kind of a puzzle mini-game when brewing potions. There are bachelors and bachelorettes in the game, so you know how that goes. Potion Permit’s a charming game which you should try playing!

Lake

I will have to place Lake at the bottom of the list (despite this not being a ranking) due to the clunkiness of the game, at least for the Switch when I played it. It was very laggy and game assets loaded slowly while driving, but that didn’t really stop me from finishing the game.

I love the concept of delivering mail in a small town. You will also get to know the residents, and they are all really charming. This was probably the reason why I chose to persevere through the lag. It has a simple storyline and like, two love interests if you’re into that. If you love just driving around and handing parcels to townies, then you should still give it a go!

Special Mentions for Cozy Nintendo Switch Games

Cult of the Lamb

If you think about cozy, Cult of the Lamb doesn’t immediately pop up but it is quite therapeutic in a sense for me. I loved building my cult: From getting materials from my runs to building the territory from just grass and dirt to a thriving community. It made me a little bit sad whenever one of my favorite cult members died, even when they had the amulet that gave them a longer life.

I will probably make another cozy games list in the future since there are so many, so definitely stay tuned for that here on thesleeplessgamer!
